One of the world-leading pharmaceutical company acquired a company in the US owning a subsidiary of 700 people in China. The Chinese subsidiary had complete autonomy without any serious input from the head office.
As the acquirer had some 5000 people in China it was essential for them to integrate and align the procedures of the new Chinese subsidiary with the existing procedures already in place in China for the other plants.
The client requested X-PM to bring on board a bicultural Chinese to lead the team of integration in:
- Building a team by defining and implementing a workforce framework, that aligned with the acquirers business
- This complex work involved negotiating and dealing with unions
- Over 6 months, new procedures were implemented and accepted.
- The projected included right-sizing the business, optimizing production and integrating with the other plants in china.
