X-PM’s executive interim manager transformed the finance department and created a shared services finance centre delivering huge year of year financial savings.
Situation
A global third party logistics company based in Singapore was faced with the challenge of each operating division having its own finance department.
The organization’s new MD requested X-PM SEA to build a shared services centre for the Singapore entity. This was a major transformation project for the business. This involved a shift to common systems, process and procedures, including a significant downsizing of finance staff.
Solution
X-PM was able to put in place an executive interim manager who had the experience of building and running a financial shared services centre for a major international airline.
X-PM interim manager scoped the project and built a transformation strategy. The transformation was expected to take over a year and involved working closely with all business heads, HR and the Ministry of Manpower.
Results
The projects was full of challenges which the interim manager very quickly worked through, by constantly managing the people, process and system issues. The end result was a shared services centre manned by 12 staff , resulting in business annual savings of over $1m. This was a perfect example of “Experienced People : Delivering Results”.
